IEDR 2008 Annual Report Scoops Design Award

The IE Domain Registry (IEDR) has scooped the 'Design Award' at this year's Published Accounts Awards for its 2008 Annual Report and Review. Announced by the Leinster Society of Chartered Accountants, the awards reward excellence for financial reporting in Ireland.

For the third successive year, the IEDR was shortlisted for an award in its category 'not for profit organisations / charities', and was one of 17 finalists to compete for one of three overall prizes - awarded for Design, Technology or Corporate & Social Responsibility - with the IEDR's 2008 Annual Report & Review declared overall winner of this year's Design prize.

The five category specific awards were: large quoted companies, small/medium sized quoted companies, financial institutions, not for profit organisations/charities and statutory unquoted large entities.

"Our decision to feature the experiences of authentic, local business owners and .ie website users was central to the design and integrity of the IEDR's 2008 Annual Report", said Mr. David Curtin, Chief Executive, IE Domain Registry. "Their 'voice' best reflects and communicates the appeal of .ie as a local namespace which offers a safe, secure and resilient online environment for businesses and their customers", he explained.

Presenting the Design Award to IEDR, Mr. David Connolly, Chairman of Leinster Society of Chartered Accountants said; "The winner was chosen because it had an overall design integrity achieved by a consistent colour palette and typographic style throughout the publication. Furthermore, the design of the report conveyed the essence of what the company actually did."
