Best ever half-year period for .ie domain registrations – 154 registered every day

We are pleased to publish the latest .ie Domain Profile Report for H1 2018 (January – June 2018), which examines the make-up of the .ie domain database. The first half of 2018 was the best ever half-year period for new .ie domain registrations – 154 were registered every day, with increases in 31 of the 32 counties of Ireland. Up to 40 Irish SMEs will benefit from an improved online presence and enhanced e-commerce sales potential, through our OPTIMISE programme this year. Now in its eighth year, the OPTIMISE programme has assisted over 130 small and micro-business owners to hone their digital skills and capabilities and enhance their e-commerce potential to realise and grow online sales. Registering a .ie online address is now easier and faster than ever as ‘liberalisation’ policy change comes into force today (21 March). Previously, any individual or business registering a .ie online address had to prove that they had a valid claim to the desired name and a real, tangible connection to the island of Ireland.
