Company Pitch
Description:

Altitude is a specialist retailer of bicycles and outdoor clothing and equipment which was established in Waterford City in 1989.

We sell the world’s best bike and outdoor brands – Trek, Giant, The North Face and Columbia to name a few – but let’s be honest: a jacket is a jacket and a bike is a bike – what we do is to put customer service and product knowledge and expertise front and centre.

We often say to customers “our job isn’t to sell you a bike; it’s to make you love cycling”. We run free courses for our customers to help them learn more about their bikes and how to fix them – an initiative that has since been copied by other stores.

Our website was launched in 2011 and currently acts as a very good showroom for our retail store but we would love to improve the effectiveness of the site to help us compete with the large ‘online only’ outfits - this is why the Optimise fund would be so important to us.

The launch of the Waterford Greenway in late 2016, as well as a major advertising campaign by Bord Failte to promote Ireland’s Ancient East will provide the springboard for increased interest in the areas of cycling and hiking and we would love to be able to spread the word about why our customer service can’t be beaten to a wider audience!

So please give us a vote and help us spread our message!
